Our Family
Our family lived in Utah for several years. Visit my "Adventures" page for info on the many different places we have called home. In recent years we have moved from McGrath, Alaska to Page, Arizona on Lake Powell and now to Blanding, Utah. Our children are amazing people and outstanding citizens and we are so grateful to share life with them.

What do they do for fun in Blanding?

mudsliding, fourwheeling, gravedigging?

Our youngest daughter loves the arts and music and is going on to college this fall. In high school she has been in a World Champion Drum Corp, has enjoyed performing in plays and singing, and worked in the rugged wilderness with a youth group last summer (just to name a few things).

Our next daughter has many stories from her travels, experiences, and associations. She graduated in May 2007 from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, a dream she worked hard to achieve. She has worked summer jobs in beautiful Sitka, Alaska and as a river guide in Utah, and on a marketing team in Washington, DC. She also studied abroad in Samoa for a semester. She is now working in in Northern Utah and has many talents.

He worked at Lake Powell for the National Park Service for the 2006 Summer. He recently married the love of his life in March 2007. They both attend USU in Northern Utah where he is working toward a degree in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering and she is working toward her degree in English Education.

Our son has been involved in many activities as well and has many talents to share. He currently works in the engineering and computer technology field.

Michael Merket is a math teacher and has been involved with the youth in many different capacities. He has served as advisor for a variety of activities and organizations. He has many life experiences and abilities.

I have worked as a secretary, and in education, and even for the US Postal Service in the bush of Alaska. I currently work for the San Juan County Library. I love nature and music and enjoy using the computer to connect with the world. My family means the world to me and my children are my greatest joy. I miss them so much right now as we are spread out everywhere.

(I hope to return to Alaska someday at a different season of our lives.)

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a very important part of our lives. It has been the one greatest source of strength, purpose, and happiness for our family.
